The best option for your 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD is to use a performance tuner, though the right one will depend on what engine you have.
I assume you do not have the turbocharged diesel which does narrow the choices. If you have a 4.3L V6 on your Silverado the only option is going to be the Superchips Dashpaq Performance Tuner # SU2060 which will allow you to switch between different power levels and has a 2.4" color screen.
Should you have a 4.8L V8, 5.3L V8, or 6.0L V8 I recommend the Superchips Flashpaq F5 Performance Tuner # SU2845. This tuner will give your 2500HD up to an additional 15.8 horsepower and 22 ft/lbs of torque for the 4.8L, 18 HP and 17 torque for the 5.3L or 23.7 HP and 22.4 torque for the 6.0L. The only thing to note is that this tuner is not legal for use in the state of California.
