Question:
Would like to purchase bike rack # TH9028XT but need trailer hitch for 2006 Chrysler Town and Country w/ Stow and Go and back up sensors. What hitch will work with the vehicle and bike rack?

Expert Reply:
The most popular trailer hitch for a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country with Stow and Go seats is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75305. This is a 2 inch trailer hitch and the Thule Apex 2 Bike Carrier, # TH9024XT, will fit. With the trailer hitch installed the center of the hitch pin hole out to clear the rear bumper is approximately 6-1/2 inches. On the bike rack, the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest part of the rack is 12 inches. So it should clear the the rear bumper.
The back up sensors may detect the rack when bikes are on it, but only when you are in reverse. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the hitch and a link to a video showing a typical installation. I have also included a link to the installation details for the bike rack along with a link to a video review.
If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend using the Bike Adapter Bar, # TH982XT, in order to carry the bikes more level on the rack. I have included a link to a video showing how the adapter works.
