Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

The "hidden hitch" fit just right. With the help of my son, it took just about an hour to install. All the parts were there and the instructions were easy to follow. The wiring harness worked fine. I would recommend your equipment to others. Thank You!!

by:

The Hidden Hitch Installs Great!I have a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country with Stow N Go Seating. I chose the class III 2" Hidden Hitch brand so the rear of the van would have a hitch that looked nice and was not bulky. The installation instructions that came with it was very easy to understand. I installed the hitch by myself while laying on the ground without jacking up the van. The bolt holes lined up easily and were all cut to fit perfectly. I was very surprised by how easy it was to install. I would highly recommend the Hidden Hitch product for this application. The hitch really looks great on the back of the van. (If you are installing it by yourself, no need to even jack the van up. Installing from the ground works fine.)

  • Trailer Towing Capacity of 2005 Chrysler Town & Country Touring Edition
I have done some research, and have found that the tow capacity of your 2005 Chrysler Town & Country is 3700 lbs. You will want to check in your owners manual to confirm the towing capacity. Also, it is important to remember that your towing capacity is limited by the lowest rated component in the towing system, including: vehicle, hitch, ball mount, hitch ball or the capacity of your trailer. For a hitch (if you don't already have one), I'd recommend the Draw-Tite Class III trailer hitch...

  • Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan
I did some checking and your 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan has a towing capacity of 3,700 lbs so you'd be within capacity to tow a 3,200 lb trailer. For a hitch you'd want the part # 75305 for if you have the stow n go rear seats or part # 75119 for if you do not. I attached an install video for the # 75305. For trailer wiring you'd want the # 118300 as a start but since you're so near your capacity you'll want a brake controller as well to activate the trailer's brakes to help you slow safely. From...

  • Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer With a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country With Stow-N-Go Seating
To pull a trailer with your 2006 Chrysler Town and Country with Stow-N-Go seats you will need a trailer hitch, ball mount, pin and clip, hitch ball, and the wiring harness for lighting on the trailer. The hitch I would recommend is the Draw-Tite Class III 2-Inch Hitch, part # 75305. This hitch has a gross towing weight capacity of 3,500 lbs. Because the capacity of any towing system is limited to the capacity of its lowest rated component, you will want to check your owners manual to determine...

  • Solution for Trailer Hitch Install Where Holes Don't Seem to Line Up Properly
It's not uncommon for hitches to get bent in shipping which makes the mounting holes not line up as easily as they should. So if the holes are off only by a little bit what you can do is start all of the bolts loose and then torque them down and you'll be good. But if they are off by a significant amount you'll need to use some leverage to bend the hitch back in place so that the holes line up. Some people will use open stairwells for leverage or vices, or jacks... As long as paint doesn't...

  • What Saris Freedom Bike Rack Accomodates Recumbent Bikes Up to a 57-Inch Wheelbase?
We do carry the recumbent bike version of the Saris Freedom, but that is a different part number. The 57-inch wheelbase rack that accommodates 2 recumbent bikes is the Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Recumbents Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # SA4412B. This rack is the Saris Freedom with the adapter bar already included. For theft-deterrence, I recommend the locking anti rattle hitch bolt # SA3022 and the etrailer cable lock # e98891 to protect both your bikes and the rack itself. If...

  • Hitch Installation Support Jack for Stability
To have a support, we normally use a second set of hands because that is the safest and easiest option. When another set of hands is not available, an option is to use the Ultra-Fab Slide-Out Supports for Motor Homes - 21" to 37" - Qty 2 # UF19-960002 to adjust the height of the hitch and support it. I recommend using straps like # IMF12637 to also secure the hitch to the supports if you use these supports.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring for 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan Towing 1993 Ranger Boat
For your 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, there are two separate hitches I recommend based on if you have Stow-N-Go seating or not. If you DO NOT have Stow-N-Go seats, I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Multi Fit - Class III - 2" # 75119. If you DO have the Stow-N-Go seats, then I recommend # 75305. For your wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118300. This harness plugs into your factory wiring harness, which is...

  • Necessity of Using Lift or Jack Stands to Install Receiver Hitch on 2005 Dodge Caravan
Using a lift is certainly the most convenient way to go, but is not absolutely necessary. When I installed the hitch on my van, I did not need to raise the vehicle at all. Having the vehicle on jack stands or ramps would make your installation easier by providing easier access to the rear of the vehicle. When using jack stands or ramps, make sure your stands or ramps are of the proper weight capacity to handle your Grand Caravan. You should also chock the front wheels to prevent the van...

Both the Curt # 13389 and the Draw-Tite # 75305 are confirmed fits for your 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan with Stow-N-Go seating and both share the same tongue weight (TW) and gross trailer weight (GTW) ratings of 350-lbs and 3500-lbs. If used with a weight distribution system both hitches' capacities increase to 400-lbs TW and 4000-lbs GTW. • Complete Towing Package For A 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
Although not always necessary, it is always a good idea to upgrade the vehicle for towing a heavy load for an extending period of time. In order to tow a 16' camper that weighs roughly 2,500 lbs. when dry, with a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan, I recommend using suspension enhancements, upgraded transmission cooler, Class III hitch receiver, sway control, brake controller, and weight distribution if the gross trailer weight (GTW) is more than 50% of the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). • Frame Bolts Used to Install the Draw-Tite Hitch on a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan
As you mentioned, the installation of the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75305 requires that you reuse two M10 and M12 bolts that should already be present in the frame rail. The only information I have on these bolts is just that, the diameter. I unfortunately do not have any additional info that pertains to thread pitch and length. However, if you speak to the parts rep at the dealer then I am sure they would have this info and a part number for you. I would try to...

The # 36257 Hitch that you referenced is no longer an active part so I called my contact at the manufacturer and found that it fits the 1996 - 2004 Dodge Caravan and Grand Caravan All, including 4WD. Stow-N-Go was not available until 2005. There are 6 models of hitches for the 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan with Stow-N-Go seating (see link). According to the owners manual, your Town and Country would only have enough towing capacity to pull your camper if it came with a factory tow package. The Curt Hitch, # 13389, is going to sit approximately 12-1/4 inches from the top of the receiver to the ground. The benefit to this hitch is that it installs in about half of the time as the other.
