How Far Do MaxxFan Roof Vents Normally Open
Updated 07/04/2018 | Published 07/02/2018 >
Question:
Hi - please help me identify why these fans will not open to a full 90 degrees and what it will take to correct the problem. Will it be necessary to replace the whole unit or is there a gear/part that can be replaced on the unit to allow the lid to open completely. Sure could use some help. Thanks

Are all three of the MaxxFans that you have the same style of vent? You said that 2 of the 3 won't open fully but one of them does. Normally the roof vents do not open that far so I'd almost think that if there was a problem it would be on the third vent that opens too far. Could I see pictures possibly?
The picture I attached shows how far they normally open. The reason they don't open further is because any further opening does not increase airflow and it allows the lid to be braced properly as well as block some rain.
