Question:

I have 5.30-12 tires on my trailer right now with a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. Im looking to upgrade to a 205/75r15. Is it possible? I have 2inchs to the trailer to the sidewall of the tire as showen in the picture.

The 5.30-12 tires are 5.6 inches wide and have an outer diameter for 21.9 inches. The Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire with 15" Vesper Silver Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # MX97FR have a section width of 7.99 inches and an outer diameter of 27.17 inches. These tires are very well made with a load rating of 2,150 lbs at 65 psi and speeds up to 81 mph.

That will give you roughly 3/4 inch clearance between the frame and your tire sidewall with that tire. The overall height of your wheel well clearance will be reduced by 2.63 inches which gives you just over 3 inches of clearance at the peak. Normally you want 4 inches for the suspension movement so you don't bottom out.

If you want to add height to your trailer to use these wheels, I recommend using an over-under kit like # K71-384-00 assuming you have 2-3/8 inch diameter axles.

The 14 inch wheels won't work as all the tires will be too wide for your application. I've attached some articles to assist further with tires.
