Rack Solution to Carry Canoe with 2017 Toyota Tundra and Tow Camper

Updated 06/25/2018 | Published 06/22/2018

Question:

I have a 2017 Toyota Tundra Crewmax with a 5.5 foot bed. Im interested in a Ladder Rack #TA27000-01, but will this rack allow me to haul a 16 foot canoe along with a camper. Will the canoe be positioned to far off the back of the truck to allow for a standard type camper without hitch/receiver modification? Thanks for the help.

The TracRac TracOne ladder rack part # TH27000XT that you referenced is confirmed as a fit for your 2017 Toyota Tundra 5.5 foot bed and would work well for carrying a canoe. Now you might want to consider a different option since you want to a trailer behind the truck.

If you used a front hitch like the part # 31198 which is a confirmed fit, a single bar roof rack like the Rhino Racks part # RRVA150B, and # RRRLKVAH, and # DK079H, and then the T-Load part # RTL002 you'd be carrying the canoe on the front half of the truck instead which would give you more clearance for the trailer you'll be towing. Then for a canoe carrier the DockGrip part # TH895 would be a great solution.
