Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness for Audi Q7
Updated 06/11/2018 | Published 06/09/2018 >
Question:
The guys at the Audi dealer say that even though my Q7 is trailer ready and a physical hitch can be bolted on to the car in lieu of the existing bumper under the painted cover, that only the Audi light control module will allow the lights and blinkers to be controlled correctly. I have confirmed that the module is required but I do not know if one can be purchased separatey as an Add-On to the trailer hitches that you sell.

For your 2013 Audi Q7, the Tekonsha Zero Contact Interface Sensor harness # 119250KIT is a fit for your vehicle wiring to add a 4-way trailer connection. This installs without wire splicing. This captures the signals through the insulation so there is no cutting of wires required. You do not need additional parts for either one of these wiring harnesses and the Audi tow wiring is not required or the only working option.
For your trailer hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13220 which is a confirmed fit for your Q7. I've attached a video as well as installation details to assist.
