Question:
My tire is 26 inches in diameter. what do you think? I would prefer a tight fit as opposed to a loose fit for the spare tire cover.

The Camco Vinyl Spare Tire Cover # CAM45259 that you referenced is designed to be a tight fit around 25-1/2" spare tires and measures 26-1/4" diameter x 9-5/16" deep so the issue is going to be the width of your tire. As you can see by the accompanying photo, the Camco Spare Tire Cover simply uses an elastic cord to tighten around the tire so because it is just a 1/4" in diameter larger than your tire it does need to be able to span the width of your tire to ensure if fits.
