Electric Winch to Power In and Power Out a 5,000 Pound Trailer

Question:

I need a winch to pull a trailer into a spot with minor incline, and to let the trailer back down. Most winches only pull. Is there a winch that can work in both directions? Trailer is 5,000 pounds, and I would use a double or triple line pull.

Since a trailer is going to be a rolling load you can use a winch that is rated under the weight of the trailer. ComeUp winch # CU644512 is rated for 4,500 pounds but has a rolling load capacity of 45,000 pounds on a level surface. But even at a 17 degree incline it can still pull a rolling load up to 11,745 pounds, which is plenty for you, and that is without a double-line pull.
