Power Source for Brake Light Relay Installed on 2018 Jeep Cherokee Overland

Updated 06/07/2018 | Published 06/05/2018

Question:

For my 2018 Jeep Cherokee Overland with push-button start. The installation video for the Roadmaster Brake Light Relay RM-88400 has the 12v power coming from a splice into Taillight wire in the 4-wire cable for the tail/brake/turn kit. Couldnt the source just as well be from the 12v CHARGE wire coming from the RV? In my case the power for this is only on when the RV is running but it will ALWAYS be there when I am connected to the Jeep and I have the RV running and I would not risk forgetting to turn on my taillights.

You certainly could run the power wire of the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400 to your RV's power wire that only sees voltage when the vehicle is running. This will basically activate the relay whenever you have the tow vehicle on and are towing so you'd be good.

I attached a link to the install video you mentioned down below as well.
