Question:
Which would be the best adjustable trailer hitch receiver for a 2016 Winnebago Micro Minnie 2106DS travel trailer. I do no have the trailer here, so cant take frame measurements. This would be for a heavy duty bike rack with 2 heavy e-bikes, probably 175 lbs. or so. Thanks

For your 2016 Winnebago Micro Minnie Travel Trailer, I recommend the Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13703. This Class III hitch is specifically designed for use on trailers like yours and will install on frame widths of 22 inches to 72 inches. As long as the frame width on your Micro Minnie falls within this range, this will work perfectly to secure a hitch-mounted bike rack or other accessory. It features a tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds and all the hardware is included. It can be bolted to the frame or welded on for a no-drill application. Just note that Curt does require that a stabilizing strap like # 18050 be used with any non-trailer load like a bike rack or cargo carrier.
I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
When choosing a bike rack, you will just need to make sure that the carrier is approved for use behind a trailer. This is because of of the extra bounce and movement that a bike rack will experience at the rear of a trailer as opposed to the rear of a passenger vehicle. Trailer/RV approved racks have been tested for this use and are constructed to be able to withstand this extra movement during travel.
The highest capacity bike racks we have available that are approved for use on a trailer is the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR. This platform style rack can handle 2 bikes of up to 70 pounds each with tire widths up to 3 inches. This rack secures bikes by their frames. Then we have the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO # LGA77FR which holds bikes up to 75 pounds and wheels up to 4.5 inches. This rack secures bikes by their wheels but will still work if your bike has fenders. If this still is not enough capacity, you could explore removing the batteries from your e-bikes to get within the weight capacity range that you need.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this bike rack, along with a link that will take you to our available selection of bike racks approved for your application.
