Main Tube Length on Curt RV Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13703

Question:
How long is the main hitch body tube? I know maximum width says 72 inches. Im right at that breaking point with a I beam frame. The brackets seem to offset and move in towards the center so just seeing if I will be skinny enough. What is the total length of that square tubing? thanks

Expert Reply:
The length of the square cross tube on RV Trailer Hitch # 13703 is 68-1/2 inches. I've also attached a photo of the dimensions for the brackets to assist as that gives additional length for the maximum fit of 72 inches.

My 5th wheel frame is 72” inside to inside of the I beam frame. I’m guessing to be be about 74-1/4” insides to inside of vertical plate of I beam. Where is the 72” figured from? I see the cross tube is 68” but do not see the width of the offset where the mounting plate is bent to rest on bottom of I beam. Thank you.
