Trailer Wiring Harness Troubleshooting for 2017 Chevy Bolt EV

Question:

I ordered your hitch and tailgate harness c59236. the only way my lights work is when the tailgate is up 2017 chevy bolt only blinkers will work with tailgate down. Can you give me a pacific wiring diagram so I can wire my 2017 Chevy Bolt LT or where can I see a video. I have tried every where. Thanks.

I attached a picture that shows a wiring diagram for the Curt trailer wiring harness part # C59236. I also attached the install instructions below that detail how to install it on varying styles of vehicles.

Based on what you are describing it sounds like you may have picked the wrong circuits for wiring the harness to your vehicle. One of the circuits you may be mistakenly using is for interior lights that come on when a door is open.
