Question:
Do I have to run a wire from the rear of the vehicle, where the wiring harness will connect to the taillights, all the way to the battery?

Expert Reply:
Because the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # 118386, is a non-powered, T-style connector, you will not have to run a power wire to the vehicle battery. The harness receives power and signals through the tail light wiring on your 2005 Toyota Matrix XR. I have included a link to the installation details for you to view.
