Question:
I am trying to rebuild my trailer brakes. I have a dexter axles with numbers 3722505....... 4,000 lbs. My book by dexter that came with my fifth wheel says I need replacement part K71-125-00 4.4k for the brake magnets and part number K71-672-00 for the brake shoe replacement kit. I assume I need the 4.4k and not the 3.5K. Not sure where to look on etrailer site. I have tandem axels and would like to replace the brakes on all four wheels. Could you advise me on the proper assemblies for my RV. I would like the brakes to be a bit more aggressive than the stock brakes. GVWR on this 5th wheel is 9800# 1800# pin.

Expert Reply:
For an exact replacement for the assemblies of your trailer you would want the part # K23-478-00 for the left hand side and part # K23-479-00 for the right hand side.
Brake assemblies are not what you'll use to make your braking more aggresive. For that you'd want to increase the gain setting of your brake controller as that's how you adjust the braking power higher.
