What Size is the Set Screw for Re-Keying Kit DTLBM02RK

Question:

The Allen wrench striped as I was trying to remove it from the hitch...I was wondering what size the set screw is so I can try to use tool to remove it.

The set screw that holds the locks such as # DTLBM02RK to the ball mount is a 0.05 inch so you would need a 0.05 Allen wrench. But if it is stripped at the screw too you may need to just try numerous sizes to find one that fits the best. That is usually what I do; bring every Allen wrench I have with me and try them until one fits.

I do recommend using some penetrating oil and letting it soak for about 15 minutes to make it easier to remove the screw.

Set screw stripped and #1 screw extractor not working. What’s the next step? Can I drill the set screw out and retap the threads? If so what size and thread count?

@Jason You can drill out the set screw to get it out but I won't be able to tell you what size thread tap to use as you'll most likely end up damaging the threads and have to go to the next size up from there to create clean threads.
