Question:
I recently purchased a cargo carrier to go into the receiver I also purchased for my Miata. Is there an adapter to raise the carrier above the exhaust. I burned my tarp and luggage.

There is an adapter you can use to raise your Curt Cargo Carrier # C18145 on your 2007 Mazda Miata though it will reduce the capacity of your Curt Hitch # C11028 by half and require you to use the 2" shank on your cargo carrier.
The Brophy # HT5R will give you 5" of rise and has a 2" receiver but since your cargo carrier weighs 29 lbs it would limit you to carrying 71 lbs of cargo with your carrier. I do recommend using Hitch Receiver Lock # 5200 to lock the adapter in your receiver.
I've added links to video reviews of these products for you to take a look at as well.
