Question:
Confused. Want to buy Nighthawk RM676. Have 2006 Allegro Bay 37. Think I will use 2013 Equinox tow. What do I buy for Base Plates? Who installs? What Base Plates are easy to install limited triming or cutting on tow? Thanks for any help!

The base plate kit that you want to install on your 2013 Chevrolet Equinox to use with the Nighthawk All Terrain # RM-676 is Roadmaster EZ5 # RM-523160-5. These will connect directly to each other without an adapter. This base plate kit will not fit your Equinox if it has a brush guard, but it does have a limited amount of trimming as you can see from figure T in the attached instructions.
To finish the wiring on your Equinox you need the Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152. Since a fuse needs to be pulled to keep your battery from draining you can either install the FuseMaster # RM-76517 to quickly disconnect the fuse, or connect the Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 from the positive terminal on your battery to the middle pin on the 6-Way that installs on your Equinox to charge your battery.
You also need a supplemental braking system and possibly a high-low adapter to finished up your flat towing setup.
I highly recommend going with the Air Force One # SM99243. Since it won't activate the Equinox's brakes when the Allegro Bay's brake lights come on it avoids any false braking while using the exhaust brake.
Attached is a link to our selection of high-low adapters for you to filter through as well as a helpful article that walks you through how to select the correct one. There are also some other helpful videos and articles for you to check out.
If you are pretty handy with vehicles you could do the installations on your own, but some of these can be pretty involved so if you are not comfortable with it you can have a professional install them for you.
Be sure to follow any instructions that are highlighted in your owner's manual for flat towing.
