I appreciate your pictures on where to find the connection. My question is how to mount the redarc button in the panel? Do I drill a hole in the rectangular ?

The control knob in the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR can be mounted to a dash or console or you can use one of the available mounting panels, such as the universal model # 331-TPSI-001.
This includes a drilling template and gaskets and it works on dash/console panels with a thickness up to 9/32-inch.
