Can the mounting bolts be replaced for longer hardware? The mounting point on my trailer is not flat, thin metal but square tubing.

You'll want the taillight part # C7493RTM if you are wanting a light that allows you to pick the length of the mounting hardware you'd need. There's no way to replace the studs of the light you mentioned.
