Replacement Grease Seal Options for National Seal 203025

Updated 02/27/2018 | Published 02/26/2018

Question:

Im trying to replace the axle grease seals on my boat trailer. So far, its been very frustrating. I pulled the hubs, removed bearings and grease seals. Grease was that milky green color that indicates to me that maybe some water got in. So Im trying to track down the proper seals. No# on old seal was 203025. It was a National USA BRAND. I talked with Venture Trailers My trailer is a 1990 Venture and the numbers they gave me were 12192 TB or 12194 TC. They were trying to track down the seals for me but after 20 minutes on hold I hung up. Did an internet search which leads me here. It seems you have the match for the 12192TB. Other No#s I crossed with the TTY 2023025 were TruRyde 34823. So I guess Im asking if your 12192TB is marine recommended and ends my search? Thanks,

According to my research, the National Seal 203025 has a 1.218" inner diameter and a 1.983" outer diameter. Unfortunately, we do not have a grease seal that matches these dimensions exactly. The closest grease seal we have to the above dimensions is part # 34823 which has a 1.249" inner diameter and a 1.983" outer diameter. This seal is the same as the Transcom 12192TB and would be the seal I recommend for you.

This seal has a double lip which will do a better job of keeping water out and grease in therefore, yes is marine approved. Another option you have that will eliminate the need to match the inner diameter of the grease seal would be to replace them with a set of Bearing Buddies like part # BB1980A-SS which are made of stainless-steel.
