Converting a 6-Way on a Honda Goldwing GL1800 to a 4-Way for Towing a Trailer

Question:

I have a 5 wire/6 pin connector on my Honda Goldwing GL1800. Colors are Yellow, Green, Black, Brown, and Blue. I want to convert that to the flat, 4 pin connector on my trailer. Which has Yellow, Green, Brown, and White wires. How do I do that and what do I need to use?

We have exactly what you need in the 4 Pole Harness and Hardwire Kit # C59496.

Since your Honda Goldwing GL1800 has the stop light function separate from the turn lights you need this kit to combine the stop and turn signals like how your trailer is wired. To install it you will need to connect the following wires to the following functions on your Goldwing:

Green - Right Turn
Yellow - Left Turn
Brown - Running/Tail Lights
Thin Red - Stop or Brake Lights
White - Ground

The Thick Red wire is your 12V power for the ModuLite converter. You will connect it to the included Black wire and run that to your battery with the included fuse holder being installed in-between. By running this to the battery you will be drawing power directly from your battery to power your trailer's light functions and you will be protecting the wiring on your Goldwing.

I have a 2005 GL-1800 w/Trike kitThe wiring is 5 wire on the bike. I am using a led converter 5 to 4 to run the two trike lights. Now I need to wire 5-4 to the trailer which is incandescent lights. Any Ideals?

You shouldn't need to change the wiring or converter just because the trailer has incandescent lights. You should be good to go as-is, assuming the trailer has the same style connector (it sounds like the bike carrier used a 5-Way?). If I'm missing something please just let me know!
