Recommended Trailer Tires for Forest River Cedar Creek Fifth Wheel Trailer

Question:
I have a 14 36 RE Cedar Creek with LT 235/85-16 14 Ply Goodyear tires stored and protected ever year one trip round trip 1200 miles every other year. No cracks keep at full PSI 110. My best friend has the exact same trailer and has F rated tires Not Goodyear and is the same year. Both with 7000 lb axles. Both my tires and his made in July 13! Your recommendation, NO cracks or flat spots, Mfg Forest River says G in my manual and F in his and I can not get a straight answer. Both have the exact GVWR 16,225 lbs? Thanks

The first thing I recommend is to use trailer tires, which will be "ST" (special trailer) instead of the light truck, or "LT" tires that you are currently using. Tires that have the "ST" designation are made with a stronger sidewall that allow it to handle higher loads and pressure than a light truck tire.
That said, the load rating should be at or more than your GVWR and I recommend a tire with a load rating of G for your 2014 Forest River Cedar Creek; this is the highest load rating we offer for a 16 inch diameter tire. The 235/85-16 tires I recommend for you are the Provider # TTWPRG235R16 which has a load capacity of 4,400 lbs when inflated to the max psi of 110 (you seem knowledgeable and likely already know this, but just as a reminder always keep your tires inflated to max psi to maintain load capacity).
For your tandem axle trailer these tires will give you 17,600 lbs of capacity whereas a 235-85/16 load range F tire will have a capacity of less than 16,000 lbs. I've added a link to a video review of these tires for you to take a look at.
