Recommended Wiring Harness for 2003 Dodge Ram 1500
Question:
Will item C55504 work on a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 with factory tow package? Was also wondering if item C55504 plugs into the back of the tail light and then factory tail light wires plug into the connector? These are the only plugs on the back off my truck other than all the factory trailer wires which are all broke.

The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55504 is a fit for your 2003 Ram 1500 with factory tow package or without. This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the rear bumper on both the driver's and passenger's sides. It does not plug in at the tail lights. This will give you a functional 4-way connection.
If those connections are not working when tested with a circuit tester like # PTW2993, then I recommend using the Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit with 4 Pole Trailer Connector (Includes Install Kit) # C59496 instead and splicing in the connections behind your tail lights.
If you wan to upgrade to the 7-way, because your wires are broken at the back of your truck, I recommend using kit # ETBC7. This will bypass your factory wiring allowing you to hardware the functions you desire.
