Question:

I know they say i can tow 5th wheel, what should weight should the approx weight of the trailer be. Dealers say half ton towable which it might be but i am not looking to destroy my suspension or trans. Dont want to spend 40k on trailer then destroy truck. Would putting rear air bags in truck be beneficial with bump stops. What GRVW trailer should i look at. Thank you for your help.

You didn't list your rear end axle ratio so your capacity could be 6,650 lbs if you have a 3.21 gear ratio, 8,650 lbs if you have a 3.55 gear ratio, or 10,150 lb if you have a 3.92 ratio in your 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi 4x4 crew cab.

Find out your gear ratio by checking the VIN tag on the door and go with the corresponding number as the capacity.

An air bag kit like the part # F2299 which fits your truck will help level your truck when towing, but it will not give you additional towing capacity.
