Question:
I am hoping to fabricate a rear coach vent in a sprinter van using this fan. I was wondering if it is too loud to have running constantly while sleeping. I am also hoping to add some sort of damper to change air flow from recirculating air inside the van when it is cold too bringing in outside air when it is hot. In your opinion is this a loud fan?

The MaxxAir Mini Deluxe Trailer Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-03801 will work well in your Sprinter van. It is a very quiet fan, so you will have no problem sleeping while it is running. The fan is a single speed and will not reverse to bring outside air in unless you specifically wire it to do so, but will work to keep your sprinter cooler by moving the hot air inside and expelling it out the vent.
To add the damper you mentioned, you may instead want to consider adding a vent like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K or the thermostat and remote version # MA00-07500K. This adds another level of comfort with the thermostat controlling the inside temperature.
