Installation of Blue Ox Weight Distribution Bracket BXW4021 on Tall Trailer Frame

Question:

Is there any reason that the Blue Ox bracket BXW4021 cannot be mounted long-side vertical? It is a rotating latch, therefore I am not anticipating an issue with rotating the entire assembly. I have a 7.5inch tall frame, and the 8inch apart holes on the long side would accommodate it perfectly if it can be rotated. I would simply need to find longer straps for the opposite side of the frame rail...Do you have any 8 inch hole-to-hole straps? I looked under frame strap, U bolt, U bolt plate, and even spring shackle.

I reached out to my contact at Blue Ox and they checked with their engineer and rotating the assembly of the Blue Ox Signature Series Lift Brackets for SwayPro Weight Distribution Systems # BXW4021 will not work. The chain would not have the proper angle for function and there is also a stop that would not be in the correct location to function properly.

With that large a frame, I recommend either welding the assemblies on or running the bolts through your frame to allow proper function. My contact said they don't have any assemblies that will work with your frame unless you choose to install in this manner.
