Track Dimensions of the Rhino Rack Rooftop Track

Question:

eTrailer, Im looking for all dimensions of the Rhino Rack track RRTV148. Is there a specification drawing? What are the internal dimensions of the channel?

Expert Reply:

The channel on the Rhino Rack Roof Track, part # RRRTV148 is 0.86 inches (a little less than 7/8 inches) by 0.19 inches (a little less than 3/16ths inch). I've included a diagram showing these dimensions.

The upper channel is about 5/8 inches wide.

I recently ordered a heavy duty rhino rack for my topper the model is y01-140B. Are the legs for this compatible with the tracks on RRTV148? If not, is there a way to adapt the legs to track or vice versa? I’m trying avoid ordering additional legs. Thanks.

@DavidD The Rhino-Rack Roof Rack # Y01-140B-NT uses # RRRLT600 feet, which are compatible with RT-style tracks so they would not require an adapter to mount into the Rhino-Rack RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks # RRRTV148.

@KevinC Next question: what are the external dimensions of RTV track, specifically the width of the base in contact with the roof?

@Gt The actual dimensions of the actual tracks like part # RRRTV148 are going to be 58-1/4" long, front to back on the vehicle, and 1-1/2' wide side to side on the actual track. If you are wondering about the space between the 2 tracks, that is different for every vehicle. The tracks position as far apart as possible on the roof to the very outer edge. So that measurement varies depending on your vehicle. If there is something else you are wondering about let me know and I can get that for you.
