Question:
Im thinking of mounting a couple of these lights on the each side of my truck cap camper shell to illuminate the areas on the sides of my truck, where I tie out my sled dogs. Will the lights survive in this position at 70 mph on the highway and running through a car wash, etc.?

The RV Porch and Utility Light, # RVPL3C, would definitely be able to handle normal highway speeds, if mounted correctly, but a car wash might be a different story. These lights were designed for RVs and they are not normally ran through car washes. If the car wash were a touch-less model then you should be fine, but a car wash with the mops that twirl would most likely cause an issue with the lights protruding from the side of the shell.
Another option may be to install a flush mounted light. The angle of the installation might not be exactly what you are looking for, but the light would not protrude from the side of the vehicle and be an obstacle in car washes. Check out the Sealed, Flush Mount Tall Rectangle Trailer Back Up Light, item # BU33CB. To install this light you will also need the 2-Wire Pigtail, item # A45CB and a Grommet, item # A33GB. You would have to determine if cutting a hole for the flush mount lights is applicable for your shell and if the angle would be sufficient for illumination of the area you wish to illuminate.
