Upgrading Hitch Capacity for 2007 Monaco Signature Series
Published 01/18/2018 >
Question:
I have a 2007 Monaco RV, Signature series. It currently has a bolt on 10,000 lb hitch. I would like to upgrade to the Super Titan 4,000 but I see that it is for frame widths of 34 to 34 1/2. My frame rails are 36 1/4 inches and are not C channel type rails. Is there any way that the Super Titan can be modified or can additional spacers be used to fit my application? I would also prefer the bolt on rather than a welded type hitch.

We can get you a higher capacity hitch, though please keep in mind that your towing capacity is going to be limited to the lowest-rated component. So if your 2007 Monaco Signature Series only has a 12,500 lb towing capacity that would be the most you could tow even with a higher-rated hitch.
There is not a bolt-on option available if you wanted a higher capacity, so for your 36-1/4" frame rails the hitch that would work is the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch # 15903.
This hitch has a 15,000 lb capacity and 1,500 lb tongue weight capacity and can weld onto the frame of your Monaco. I've added a link to the installation instructions of this hitch for you to take a look at.
