Question:

We have a 2017Ford f450 with the puck system with a fifth wheel rating at 27,500. Will part # BWRV3006 and part # BWRVB3300 work together to allow us to tow a 22,000 lb fifth wheel safely and if so is this all we need. Thank you in advance for your help.

I do have a solution for you, however you will not get the towing capacity you are needing by matching up the B&W Replacement Base # BWRVB3300 for your F-450 factory rail kit and the Replacement Head Assembly # BWRVC3006. This is because the replacement base itself has a towing capacity of 20,000 pounds, and a system will always be limited by its weakest component. This simply means that even though the replacement head features a higher 25,000 pound capacity, you will still need to follow the 20,000 pound limit on the base.

There are a few fifth-wheel hitches available for the factory rail kit on your F-450 that do feature the towing capacity that you are needing. I recommend looking at the Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16545-16017.

This will mount directly to the factory pucks on your truck bed, without the need for separate adapter rails, and has a gross towing capacity of 24,000 pounds. It has a 2-jaw locking system for 360-degree contact with the trailer king pin and a self-aligning head that pivots for easy hookup.
