The Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater # KH11812 will clip into a cavity on your engine block so you will not need to remove or modify your existing freeze plug.
This location varies for the year/make/model of vehicles. If you can supply me with the year/make/model of your vehicle then I can let you know where Kat's Heaters recommends installing it.
