Installing Curt Universal Bed Rail Kit in 2003 Ford F-350 With Previously Installed Reese Kit
Updated 12/05/2017 | Published 12/04/2017 >
Question:
Ive just purchased a used 2003 Ford F-350 CCDRW with a 7.3L diesel. My question is they had a 5th wheel in the truck but removed the bed rails, they measure out the same as my F-250s bed rails. They are 40 3/4inch long 4 1/2inch wide, the question is are the reese and curt universal bed rail kits basically the same?? I mean as far as the L-brackets?? Or should I go with the Reese RP50082-58 and eliminate trying too use the existing bolts they left me in the frame? Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Universal Fit 5th wheel rails use exactly the same rails to follow industry standards. The L-brackets are nearly identical. I recommend using different hardware as they are only intended to be used for a single installation. For that hardware, you will want # C16111.
