Is the 5th Airborne Pin Box # 5AB-S500-700 a Replacement for a LIPP1116 Pin Box

Updated 11/28/2017 | Published 11/27/2017

Question:

I just purchased a new 2018 Montana High Country with a LIPP1116 Pin box. Im getting a lot of front/back chucking and would like to replace the stock pin box with a 5th Airborne. Whats the correct 5th Airborne pin box replacement? I have an 8 foot truck bed so no issues with having a short bed already learned my lesson on short beds the hard way. Im using a BandW Companion hitch no slider in my truck. OK, just looked at some other QandAs...5AB-S500-700 is the part I need? If there are other products you would recommend beside the 5th Airborne, please let me know.

The 5th Airborne Premium Fifth Wheel Air Ride Coupler # 5AB-S500-700 that you referenced is exactly what you need to replace and upgrade your Lippert 1116 pin box.

This pin box reduces longitudinal shock (chucking) by nearly 60% and decreases vertical shock by 44% which will greatly increase your ride quality compared to a standard pin box.

The 5th Airborne is really top of the line when it comes to pin boxes. If you hadn't mentioned this pin box specifically it is what I would have recommended as an upgrade for you.

The installation instructions have been linked for you to check out as well.
