Question:
I am having trouble getting my Hobie PA 14 back on the trailer when there is a cross wind at the boat ramp. Also, when I am backing the trailer down the ramp to pick up the boat I cant see the trailer. If I could figure out how to install the guide -ons CE27620 on my trailer I would buy them. Trailer: Malone Microsport Kayak Trailer with steel load bars fitted with Hobie PA cradles. The Kayak is fourteen feet long and 2 feet of it extends over the back end of the trailer. There are two U-clamps holding the rear load bar to the trailer axle frame. These might block installation on the axle frame. Any suggestions?

I have two options that will allow you to install the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers part # CE27620 on your Malone MicroSport Trailer part # MPG460G. The first option would be to install the guide posts in front of the wheels just before the a-frame of the trailer comes together. You can see this location in the attached photo.
The other option I have for you would be to relocate the taillights. Once the taillights are removed (2 bolts), you can then install the guide posts on the rear of the trailer in their place. Once the guide posts are installed you could then reattach the tail lights to the upright posts using the CE Smith Light Mounting Brackets for Post-Style Boat Trailer Guide-Ons part # CE27650A. The relocation kit comes with all wiring and hardware needed to relocate the taillights.
For increased visibility, the LED Light Kit for Post-Style Boat Guide-Ons part # CE27656A can be added to the tops of the guide posts which will provide a glowing amber/red LED for easy docking.
