Recommendation for Replacing Torsion Axle on Ez Loader Boat Trailer
Published 10/20/2017 >
Question:
I have a 2010 EZ Loader boat trailer model # AB 18-20 2100. The GVWR is 2,720 lbs with a capacity of 2,100 lbs. I am needing to replace the axle, which is a center torsion axle. The EZ Loader part number is 300-029262-10 for the full axle with hub assembly and 300-031353-10 for the axle only. The tire size is ST175/80R13C and attaches to a 5 lug 4.5 hub. Do you have any similar replacement axles, including axle-less suspensions? You can see in the picture how the axle attaches, plus there is a fender, so proper tire location is critical. Axle dimensions are below: Overall Length: 93.50 Hub Face to Hub Face: 89.25 Frame Center: 70.25 Hub Type: 5 lug tapered

The closest replacement options we have available to the drop center torsion axle currently installed on your EZ Loader Boat Trailer is going to be an Axle-Less System from Timbren.
The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System # A35RS545E might be a good solution. This system has a 3,500 pound capacity and includes electric brake hubs that feature a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. They are designed to fit any frame width and will provide a smooth, quiet, safe ride that can completely eliminate the need for an axle. I have attached an installation video on this product so you can get a better idea as to how these install and operate on the trailer.
We do not currently have any standard torsion thru axles available.
