What is Lost/Gained by Switching to Trailer Tire Size 4.80-12 Over 6.90-9

Question:
If fit is not an issue,what do I gain or lose by replacing 6.90-9 tires and wheels with 4.80-12 tires and wheels.These are on a single axle boat trailer hauling a 15 fiberglass boat and outboard motor.

If you went with a 4.80-12 in place of a 6.90-9 size tire you'd lose .6 of an inch in overall height and you'd lose at least 300 lbs of weight capacity.
Probably would be better off with sticking to the 9 inch tire size like with part # AM10040.
