Will the RM Passenger Tire Adapter 195225-95 Change the Capacity of Spare Tire Carrier 195225

Question:
How strong is the weld on the adapter sides at wheel mount and at mounting plate and once installed to the Roadmaster tire carrier with the tire mounted will there be any concern of road vibration translated to the weakest link during traveling on the highway? The adapter design is cantilevered against the mounting plate of the original carrier. This will introduce added structural fatigue due to road vibration. What is the load rating or load capacity of the two components installed together?

I contacted one of the techs at Roadmaster to check on this for you. He let me know that the capacity of the Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier, # RM-195225, and the adapter, # RM-195225-95 together does not reduce the capacity of the carrier. He assured me that the engineers at Roadmaster addressed all of your concerns in the design of this spare tire carrier and the automotive tire adapter. Accessories that Roadmaster certifies for use on the back of an RV have been thoroughly tested for safety and structural soundness to withstand the vibration that can be expected on the back of large motorhomes. The welds on these products are full welds, not tack welds and any pivoting parts are are reinforced with bolts that are rated well above the capacity of the product.
The RM Spare Tire carrier was designed to carry large motorhome tires with up to 24.5" wheels. These large semi - sized tire/wheel combinations can weigh over 150 lb. So, any automotive tire will fall well under the total capacity of the carrier. If you will be flat-towing a vehicle behind the RV with this carrier installed, the maximum flat towing capacity will be 10,000 lb and the maximum tongue weight will be 400 lb, excluding the weight of the carrier and the tire/wheel.
