Will Optronics Opti-Brite RV Interior Strip Light Work as Outdoor Porch Light
Updated 09/19/2017 | Published 09/18/2017 >
Question:
In the QandA section about porch light part # ILL70CBSBAWN a customer inquired about how water proof this light was. Expert Chris R suggested that perhaps a #RVPLIC would be a more water proof option. Problem... The ILL70CBSBAWN is really cool!! The #RVPLIC is very generic and utilitarian. Id like something as cool as the one with the water proofing of the the other. Do you have any such light option?

The Optronics Opti-Brite RV Interior Strip Light # ILL70CBSBAWN referenced in your question is without a doubt, a very cool light assembly that would look great on an RV porch. While this unit is not necessarily designed as an outdoor light, it does feature a sealed, waterproof construction with an IP67 rating. This means it is fully sealed from dust and can withstand water submersion of up to about 3 feet.
As long as you don't forsee gushing water routinely making its way directly to the unit, this will work absolutely fine as an outdoor porch light for your RV. I have also attached a short video demonstration on this product so you can get a closer look.
