Question:
I have installed a Hopkins 11156108 plug-in towed wiring kit on my 2017 GMC Terrain. Can I now install a Curt #56094 trailer wiring and if so, which side of the towed wiring will the trailer wiring connectors go? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 56094 referenced in your question can be installed in your vehicle that already has the tow bar wiring you mentioned installed, however they cannot be plugged in at the same time. This trailer wiring harness is confirmed to fit your 2017 GMC Terrain and will provide a 4-Way connector at the rear of your vehicle. This will install by plugging into the vehicle's existing harness, which is located behind the driver's side and passenger's side tail lights. Since the trailer harness will use the same ports as the Hopkins Wiring Kit # HM56108, you will need to disconnect the tow bar wiring kit when you are wanting to tow a trailer. You will just need to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
I have attached the written installation instructions that you can also use for reference.
