Replacing Landing Gear on 1994 Terry 5th Wheel Trailer
Updated 08/29/2017 | Published 08/28/2017 >
Question:
I have removed both landing gear legs. Beveled gears are stripped on one, and other one is so so. Is there a collar nut that may be stripped as well? How can I tell if its just the beveled gears?

I am not sure what brand/manufacturer landing gear you have on your trailer, but based on the gears being stripped and its age, I recommend replacing the entire unit. Replacement parts may no longer be available.
In order to select a landing gear set that will bolt up to the existing brackets on your trailer, you will just need to measure the distance between the mounting brackets. Otherwise you can simply have the brackets removed and install those that will come with a new assembly like the Stromberg Carlson # LG-1. This electric landing gear set has a combined weight capacity of 5,500 pounds with leg lengths of 29-1/2 inches. It will provide a total travel of 19-7/8 inches. The set includes 2 jacks, gearbox, motor, switch, footplates, cross shaft, hand crank and hardware.
I have attached a video demonstration on this product along with a link that will take you to our available selection of landing gear sets.
