Question:
Is the Tekonsha T-wire harness Code # 118566 guaranteed to work on a 2016 Ford Escape? Same question regarding the DrawTite class III hitch part number 75782? Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2016 Ford Escape, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75782 is a confirmed fit as is the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118566.
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will then run the hot lead wire up to your car battery and insert the fuse once that connection is complete. I've attached an article to assist with running that lead wire and have attached a video to assist.
For a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 3" Drop, 3-1/2" Rise - 7.5K - Black, # BWTS10035B. This will give you a 2 inch and 1-7/8 inch hitch ball as well as give you adjustability to tow a trailer level by offering the 1 inch height adjustments between a 3 inch drop and 3-1/2 inch rise. This ball mount also offers the ability to hide the ball on the backside when not in use to give you a clean look and save your shins when loading cargo in the rear hatch.
You may also want a hitch lock like # e98880 to secure your ball mount or other accessories.
