Question:
We have a 2013 F150. It has the pair of factory trailer plugs but does not have the factory brake controller. Is there a controller that will fit in the OEM location?

There are no aftermarket brake controllers designed to mount in the OEM slot. However, I recommend going with the Hopkins InSIGHT Flex-Mount Trailer Brake Controller. It can be mounted anywhere on the lower part of your dash, so while it won't fit into the OEM location, it can be positioned near it or over it. This particular controller uses two small components that are especially unobtrusive.
I also recommend using the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Brake-Control Wiring Adapter for Ford vehicles, # HM47845. One end of this adapter plugs into your brake controller, and the other plugs into the port located beneath your dash for easy installation. This adapter is confirmed to fit your vehicle.
I've attached a review video for both the brake controller and the wiring adapter as well as an installation video on a 2011 Ford F-150 if you'd like to check them out.
