Hopkins Accessories and Parts - HM47845

Designed for your vehicle with a factory tow package, this wiring harness plugs into the quick-connect harness located under your dashboard and into your Hopkins Agility, Impulse, Reliance or BrakeForce brake controller for easy installation.

Features:

  • Connects your Hopkins brake controller to your vehicle's factory tow package
    • 1 Plug is inserted into the back of your electric brake control
    • 1 Plug is inserted into the factory-installed port under your dashboard
  • Requires no cutting or splicing wires for installation - just plug and play
  • Works with Hopkins Plug-In Simple brake controllers (Agility, Impulse, Reliance and BrakeForce)
  • 90-Day limited warranty

Tech Tip: The OEM plug in your vehicle is located under the dashboard to the right of the steering column, behind the black pocket in the dash.

This brake-control wiring adapter will simplify the installation of your Hopkins electric brake controller. Once the brake controller is installed, the harness then plugs into a port under the dash. Because your vehicle has a factory tow package, all the wires for the brake controller have already been run from the 7-way trailer connector at the back of the truck to the plug under the dash. If your vehicle does not have a factory 7-way, additional wiring will be necessary to complete installation.

Video Transcript for Hopkins Brake Controller HM47845 Review

Today, we're going to be taking a look at part number HM47845. This is the Hopkins Plug-In Simple brake control wiring adapter. This is going to fit many Ford applications, so to see if this is going to be a fit for your particular vehicle, you can use the vehicle fit guide located on our website. This brake control wiring adapter is going to simplify the installation of your Hopkins electric brake controller. This simply connects your Hopkins brake controller to your vehicle's factory tow package. This flat plug right here is going to be the plug that gets inserted into the back of your electric brake controller, and then this plug is a custom fit plug that's designed to fit into the factory installed port under your dashboard.

One of the great advantages of a system like this is it doesn't require any cutting or splicing of wires for installation. All you have to do is plug them in until you hear them snap into place, so it's a plug and play system. This is designed to work with the Hopkins Plug-In Simple brake controllers like the Agility, the Impulse, the Reliance, and the Brake-Force. A little tech tip is that the OEM plug in your vehicle is going to be located under the dashboard, to the right of the steering column, right behind the black pocket in the dash. When it comes to the total length of the wire, you're going to have about thirty-six inches to work with, that's just the amount of wiring in between the plugs, and then they do have a couple different spots along the wiring where they're taped together. That's just going to keep the wires bunched up or together.

That way they don't dangle by the pedals on your vehicle or behind the dashboard. I do have a brake controller here today from Hopkins. This is the Agility. I'm just want to show you real quick how this would plug into the port here. Really simple operation, all you have to do is line up the two pieces, push them in until you get it to snap together. It's just as easy as one little snap and push.

To disconnect, all you have to do is lift up on that tab, simply wiggle it loose until it becomes disconnected. That's another great feature of an adapter like this, is you can connect and disconnect from your vehicle or brake controller quickly and easily. That's going to do it for our review of part number HM47845. This is the Hopkins Plug-In Simple brake control wiring adapter. .

The item i clicked on was correct and the picture was accurate but i received this part for a newer truck which i can get in any store. I'm not paying one dime for return shipping. I found etrailer and thought it would be a good deal because i install hitches brake controllers and build trailers. But never again. No way in hell would i select the wrong part. Something happened on etrailers end not mine. 14bucks for return shipping in insane. When it's only a few bucks. But still etrail er should take care of it. I can order it on ebay cheaper with free shipping cheaper than the return price to etrailer. Be careful 508728

  • The Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller # HM47294 will install in your 2017 Ford F-150 by using the Plug-In Adapter # HM47845. The adapter will plug into the connector which is installed behind a side panel between your steering wheel and your radio. You will need to disconnect the connector from that side panel (which is where an OEM controller would normally sit) and bring it to the underside of your driver side dash for installation. • I have attached a drawing that shows how the wires are run for the # ETBC7 and brake controller wiring. There is no plug-in adapter available for a brake controller for your Flex with no factory towing package so it will be a hardwire installation. I called my contact at Tekonsha and they said the plug you sent the photo of is not the connector used for a brake controller. You will need to use the circuit tester that came with the # ETBC7 to test the wires on your Flex. The red wire...
