I see on the website that it claims that this part below will fit the 2014 Mercedes GL450, is that correct? Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Item # 3035-P Please advise... Thanks!

We have everything you need to install a trailer brake controller on your 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL450, however there is not a plug-in adapter available that will fit this vehicle. The Tekonsha # 3035-P that you referenced is designed for certain model Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles. It is not compatible with your GL450.
If your Mercedes GL450 does not have the factory tow package, you will first need to install a 4-Way connector with the Curt Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light w Converter Hardwire Kit # C59496. This is a universal, hardwire kit that will adapt the separate turn and stop lights on your vehicle to a 2-wire system for the trailer. It includes a circuit tester to aid in installation.
After the 4-Way connector is installed, you will then install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7. This kit includes everything needed to install a fully functional 7-way connector and trailer brake controller. I have attached an article that details the installation steps for this kit that you might find helpful.
Then for a trailer brake controller, I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This is a great proportional controller that will activate your trailer brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your GL450. It features an easy-to-read digital display along with continuous diagnostics that will alert you to any potential issues.
I have included a couple of additional articles that you may find helpful.
