Troubleshooting Axle Alignment Issue on Tandem Axle EZ Loader Trailer

Question:
Hi. I recently replaced and axle on a 1988 tandem axle ez loader trailer. After the replacement one wheel sticks out about an inch mote on one side. What could cause this?

It sounds like you may have a replacement axle that wasn't fitted properly. You will want to make sure you have matching axles as that natural misalignment will cause tire wear issues and can lead to sway issues as well. I've linked the page to all of our axle options to assist. You will want to measure from hub face to hub face on each axle and from spring seat to spring seat center to determine the correct fit. I've linked the page to the options for replacement. You will also want to make sure your tires and wheel are all the same as that could also account for the inch difference.
If they are different, you will need to replace one or both to get a matching set. If they are the same, then you will want to realign your axles at the spring seats and springs at hangers to determine why the shift and correct it.
