I want to run a 42 litre portable fridge in my SUV - what is the best way to do this - the fridge manufacturer tells me just to plug it in to a cigarette lighter point in my SUV but my 2017 SUV is a little smarter than that the alternator cuts in and out all the time - it only runs when the battery needs charging

To run your portable fridge in your SUV, I recommend you use the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332. This will connect directly to your battery and will then help your smart alternator to kick in as needed. You may want to consider using # 12-2-1 for any wiring length you need to add.
