Needing Replacement a Key for a Yakima Ski Carrier

Question:

I have a Yakima ski box but have lost the key, I have other ski rack keys but they dont open the box. can I get a key to fit it,

To find a replacement key for your Yakima ski carrier you will need to get the lock core number of your current locks.

The lock core number isn't stamped on the outside of the core. The only way to order a replacement key is to use a change key like # 853-1251 to remove the core. However, if the core is locked, then you would have to have a locksmith unlock the core first before using the change key to remove the lock core.

Once removed the key number would be stamped on the core and with that you could order the correct replacement key.
