Lower capacity Curt trailer hitches like the part # C11465 do require the stabilizer strap part # 18050 (or something similar) when carrying a non-supported load like a bike rack. Failure to do this will void the warranty of the hitch.
That's why the Draw Tite hitch part # DT24959 would be a much better option for your 2017 Subaru Impreza as it does not have that requirement.
