Question:

Want to make sure this this cargo carrier will fit a GMC Yukon Denali. We are traveling to SC from KY in July and need extra space for all the stuff!!

To find out whether or not the etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874 will fit on your 2012 GMC Yukon you will need to take a few measurements.

When the cargo carrier is folded down the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the carrier is 19-1/2 inches. When you fold the carrier up that distance changes to 9-1/2 inches. If you go out to your Yukon and the distance from the center of your hitch pin hole to the closest part of your vehicle is less than 9-1/2 inches and you have a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver this carrier will work perfectly!

The other thing that you want to make sure of is that the basket is not sitting where your exhaust will be blowing out on the cargo; this can cause damage to equipment. This carrier has a shank rise of 2 inches so that is something else you will want to measure.

The etrailer carrier comes with a hitch pin and clip but I recommend using the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 because it will help to eliminate play in the receiver and it will lock the carrier to your Yukon deterring theft.

To help secure your cargo in the carrier you can use the Rhino-Rack Net # RLN1-RTD4, but a more weatherproof solution is our Cargo Bag w/ Mounting Straps # 988501.
